
Margaret Demko has supported youth and families in Vinton and Athens counties since 2000. She has led home visiting services in Vinton and Gallia/Meigs counties and served as Vinton County’s Family and Children First Coordinator. With extensive experience in grant writing and management at all levels, she is well-versed in audits and budgeting.
A dedicated advocate, Margaret is the guardian of two young women with developmental disabilities and has served over a decade as board president of the Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Originally from Steubenville, Ohio, she moved to Athens County in 1993 to study Sports Sciences, earning her degree summa cum laude in 1996. She now lives in Albany with her husband and their 20-year-old daughter with Down syndrome.
In her free time, Margaret enjoys exploring in her Jeep, painting pottery in her ceramics studio, and caring for animals on her homestead.
